A journey between science, care, and family

Dra. Maíra Machado is a dermatologist (CRM/MS 5400, RQE 5748), with clinical and surgical practice focused on the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.

She is co-founder of Clínica BMK and its Medical Technical Director, as well as co-founder of the Instituto Vida Preventiva (IVP), where she leads dermatological research, including the development of wearable devices capable of continuously monitoring skin signals, part of the Ecossistema IVP.

She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Nutrology, expanding her practice toward even more complete patient care.

Outside the clinic and research, she is a dedicated mother of two girls, and it is that same dedication she brings to every patient she treats.

Research that wears technology on the skin

The Ecossistema IVP researches wearable devices capable of continuously capturing skin signals, extending the reach of dermatology beyond the in-person visit — one of the research fronts Dra. Maíra helps lead within the Instituto Vida Preventiva (IVP).

The IVP was created to multiply over a decade of social work, combining technology, training, and strategic partnerships with the public sector, the Brazilian public health system (SUS), companies, and health insurers — all with the same goal: anticipating risk and acting before disease appears.
